The movement, named 'Adyapanaya Aithiyak' (Education is a Right) is to be initiated with the participation of parents, teachers, educationalists and students.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', a student activist said that a circular issued on January 2015 had legalised money collection in schools.

The activist also said that they intend to raise public awareness on money collection in schools and to sign a public petition on this regard.
