Dissanayake and Thilanga Sumathipala both telephoned Fonseka yesterday (26) and explained to him in detail about the president’s proposition.

Without rejecting the proposal, Fonseka stressed that his party has decided to contest on its own, adding that he would come back with a response after discussing with party officials.
