The 59 Tamils, 17 Sinhalese and two crew members were nabbed around 65 km miles off Kirinda coast, said Navy spokesman Commander Indika Silva.

They were being brought ashore and would be handed over to police, said the spokesman.

He added that strengthening of Navy patrolling has resulted in a decline in attempts by illegal immigrants, BBC Sandeshaya reports.
