Committee to investigate sexual harassment against children in Jaffna Featured

National Child Protection Authority has established an independent committee consisting of 7 members to investigate the sexual harassment against children taking place in Jaffna District.

The Chairman of Child Protection Authority Natasha Balendra stated that the authority has already directed its attention towards the socio-political risk which the children living in a post-war situation have to experience and the sexual harassment taking place under such conditions.

The committee will select a sample from the sexual harassment taken place in May in Jaffna district and investigate.

The committee has been instructed to submit the recommendations before 14 August 2015, Balendra stated.
