Rupavahini Corporation chairman Somaratne Dissanayake is now on tour in China along with his director general Sunil Shantha, after appointing a diehard Mahinda Rajapaksa loyalist Nishantha Ubhayawansa as the acting chairman.
Ubhayawansa, a deputy director general, had shamelessly supported the abuse of SLRC during the Rajapaksa regime.
However, it is traditionally the media ministry secretary who takes charge of SLRC in the absence of both the chairman and the DG.
Ubhayawansa has participated in functions to bring Rajapaksa back to politics too.
