Speaking at the SLAF Director Board meeting held at the SLAF headquarters yesterday (01), he has said that the above appointments would be made as soon as the Defence Secretary, who is currently overseas, returns to the island.

Speaking to a senior official of the Defence ministry on this regard, 'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns that the President has postponed the appointment of a new SLAF commander until the Defence Secretary returns to Sri Lanka.
With SLAF commander Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatillake about to retire soon, a cold war has commenced between Air Vice Marshals Gagan Bulathsinghala and Kapila Jayampathi who are next in line for the top post.
