Its aim was to protest against moves to bring former president Mahinda Rajapaksa back to power.
Convener of Api Purawesiyo Priyantha Fernando alleged Rajapaksa was brainwashing the public through deceptive means by visiting temples and kovils.
A protest took place in front of the new bus stand in Anuradhapura today (31) on the theme ‘No to Mahinda again’, organized by civil society collective of Api Purawesiyo and Veediye Virodhaya.
