The ministers include Mahinda Yapa Abeywardara and state ministers Dilan Perera and C.B. Rathnayake.
Meanwhile, it is said that state minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi too, is preparing to resign from the government today.
Speaking, a senior minister said that the resignations are a mark of protest against the pending call for nominations required for elections at Provincial Councils, which were dissolved amid strong disapproval of the party.
He also added that around 10 cabinet ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers are prepared to relinquish their positions in this manner.
They are to make a special statement today morning at the Opposition Leader's office in Colombo, reports add.
However, SLFP ministers who convened at the Presidential secretariat on May 18 had earlier decided not to resign over personal reasons but to do so after the 20th Amendment was passed.
