The President has said this during a meeting with heads of media organisations this morning.
He said that the SLFP CC has also decided to call for nominations this week, for the upcoming election.
The President has also assured US secretary of State - John Kerry that a new parliament would be established around September.
In order to do so, the present parliament should be dissolved at least before the end of this month.
