The Financial Criminal Investigation Division (FCID) has revealed that financial irregularities amounting to Rs. 40 million has taken place during the tenure of Major General Nanda Mallawaarachchi, as the secretary of the Sports ministry.
Maj. Gen. Mallawaarachchi was summoned to the FCID yesterday and was questioned for around 05 hours.
He has also functioned as the Secretary to the Ministry of Law and Order as well as the Sri Lankan ambassador to Indonesia.
The investigations are being held under the Public Property Act and the Money Laundering Act.
