At a media briefing in Colombo today, its CEO Dilanthe Withanage said the new party would be formed this week.

He said Buddhist monks will function as spiritual leaders in this party.

According to him, the new party will have a leadership council, not a specific leader.

These leaders will come to the fore accordingly, he added.
