Speaking to ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’, the Thera said, “ We made a very reasonable request… However, instead of authorities seeking a solution for these issues, the students who present these issues are being suppressed by deploying the police and the military.”

The prevailing education crisis cannot be resolved by sending police and CID officers to Temples and homes… The relevant authorities should provide a proper solution, the Thera added.

These issues have never been addressed so far. Until a proper solution is provided, the students’ movement who will face any hurdle to secure educational rights will continue, the Thera further said.
