General secretary of BBS Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera has told BBC Sandeshaya that the aim would be to create a new political force that goes in line with the objectives and principles of the organization.

Also, a new national leader would be introduced, he said, adding that his identity would not be revealed yet for security reasons.

The Thera added that the behaviour of politicians claiming to be Sinhala Buddhists was sickening.

Unofficial sources told Sri Lanka Mirror that the new party by BBS would be led by former defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
