Sri Lanka Mirror further learns from reliable sources that the attempt to hold a similar meeting at BRC sports club with the participation of the cricket clubs in Western Province last week had been unsuccessful.

According to reports the mastermind behind this attempt is former SLC Chairman Upali Dharmadasa.

His strategy is presumed to be submitting a letter to ICC stating that the local aacricket clubs oppose the appointment of an interim committee.

He has obtained the assistance of the former SLC Secretary Nishantha Ranatunga and former Chairman Mohan de Silva in this process, reports say.

Upali, who is a former Chairman of SLC, despite having authority has not attended a single Executive Committee meeting during the previous administration.
