Emergency SLFP meeting on 19th amendment

Emergency SLFP meeting on 19th amendment Featured

The SLFP opposes the UNP’s idea of getting the 19th amendment passed without changing the electoral system, alleges opposition leader
Nimal Siripala de Silva.

The SLFP central committee has decided that both the 19th amendment and the electoral reforms should be introduced simultaneously.

However, there is a question over the submitting of the electoral reforms, together with the 19th amendment that is to be debated on April 27.

The SLFP’s executive committee will discuss the matter at an emergency meeting at the Foundation Institute at 5.00 pm tomorrow (23), reports say.
