Semini was holding a media briefing in Rajagiriya today (22) to reject claims in websites and social media that she and another actress Lochana Imashi were connected to Wele Suda.

She questioned police over the use of the word actresses when referring to persons who had connections with the drug dealer, noting that no one is guilty until proven so before a court of law.

Police should rectify mistake

Semini asked police to rectify the mistake, and said she would ask the IGP to reveal the names of the actresses who have thus affected their own lives.

She went onto say that she lodged a complaint with the CID, and that she has now been informed that only a defamation case could be filed regarding the claims by websites and social media.

Semini said however she would not file a case as she would have to wait many years for a ruling.
