The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption and the Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) of Sri Lanka police have received several complaints against the former minister.
The FCID wants to question Basil Rajapaksa on the misuse of a fund under the Ministry of Economic Development.
The accusations have been leveled on spending gratuity funds of the Divi Neguma Department for the presidential election and spending Rs. 70 million for a summit.
Kaduwela Magistrate last month ordered the police to question the former minister on the allegations.
Meanwhile, the Secretary to the former President, Lalith Weeratunga, has been summoned to the the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) to record a statement regarding a financial transaction of the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission.
