Former UNP Mahara electorate organiser - Thushara Perera, who later crossed over to the Rajapaksa government has been arrested by the CID on the charges of forging a deed, reports say.

In the past he also faced several counts of cheque frauds and was even arrested.

It is said that he had even defrauded former Presidential advisor - Bharatha Lakshma n Premachandra.

Daughter of late Mr. Premachandra - Hirunika Premachandra had reportedly met with UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe once, urging to solve this fraud, reports add.
