On a decision taken a few days earlier, SLFP chairman, president Maithripala Sirisena on Saturday sent letters of suspension to CC members Salinda Dissanayake, S.M. Chandrasena, Bandula Gunawardena, T.B. Ekanayake and Rohitha Abyegunwardena.

Earlier in the day, one of the suspended members went to see the president along with some other MPs and had cordial discussions, said Premajayantha.

The party chairman will have the final say on the matter, he added.
