Silva’s offer came in a telephone call to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', which has revealed that the ex-defence secretary was going to enter politics.
He said Gotabhaya is a person who should be in politics, and that he will not hesitate to extend his support to him.

Meanwhile, in his interview with 'Sri Lanka Mirror' editor Kelum Shivantha yesterday (06), Gotabhaya said he had opposed punishment for Fonseka.
He said he disagreed with punishing any of the military personnel involved in the war.
Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa was informed of the stance and objections were raised at the national security council against the punishing of Fonseka, he said.
He added that he had proposed that any punishment at the first military tribunal against the former Army commander should be given an Army camp.
