"We will bring back the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime even risking our own lives. Nobody can stop it. The government, by being afraid of the building wave of Mahinda, has now fixed a National Government gimmick," Gammanpila has said at a news conference in Maggonna.

Expressing his views further Gammanpila has said,

"We are fighting not only against Maithri or Ranil but with America and India. These imperialists robbed our government not to give it back in 100 days. Despite warnings and threats many SLFP members and MPs have joined hands with us to bring Mahinda Rajapaksa back in to politics."
