Indian Navy ships to dock in Trinco

The Indian High Commission in Colombo has stated that four ships from the Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron will arrive in Sri Lanka today and will visit Trincomalee from March 27-29.

The naval ships that will be arriving are TIR and KESARI, Indian Coast Guard Ship VARUNA and Sail Training Ship SUDARSHINI, the High Commission has stated.

During the visit to Trincomalee, a series of professional, training, cultural and sports interactions are scheduled to take place between the ships’ crew and Sri Lanka Navy personnel, the High Commission has added.

Ships from the First Training Squadron have been visiting Sri Lanka regularly. Their last visit to Sri Lanka was in April 2013 during which training opportunities were provided to the Sri Lanka Navy.
