This channel belongs to Shan Wickremesinghe, the elder brother of the premier.

When contacted by phone, Mr. Wickremesinghe said the programme could not be telecast due to a technical malfunction in the studio where the programme was recorded.

The programme will resume coming Sunday, he said.

Another programme to be telecast live after Janahanda too, was not telecast, he said.

Wijesinha, when contacted, said he suspected the programme would not be telecast as he had strongly criticized the premier in the programme.

He said he had been told by programme presenter Mandana Ismail that the recorded tape had malfunctioned.

Attempts to reach Ismail for a comment were unsuccessful.
