It was arranged by Sri Lanka Cricket chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa and CEO Ashley de Silva.
After the conclusion of the skype conversation, the president and cricket chiefs had a friendly chat.
In the course of that, Jayantha invited the president to be present for the final if Sri Lanka qualified.
The president said he would be in China on that particular date, but wanted to know the time of the game.
Intervening here, SLC secretary Nishantha Ranatunga said it would be a day game.
Referring to the timetable in his hand, Jayantha corrected him and said it was in fact going to be a day-night fixture.
However, Ranatunga maintained it would be a day game.
After the SLC officials left, the president instructed his officials to find out whether the WC final was a day game or a day-night game.
When his officials told him that it was going to be a day-night game, the president would have realized what sort of a person Nishantha is, say president’s house sources.
