“Wele Suda has divulged plenty of information and we are sorry to say that we will have to arrest powerful people of the previous regime,” the Minister has said in parliament in response to a question posed by opposition MP Shantha Bandara.

Bandara has questioned whether the documents which contain important details divulged by Wele Suda had gone missing. Amaratunge has said he was unable to answer that question because he would have to mention the names of certain MPs if he did so.

The opposition MP has pointed out that Wele Suda had said that an opposition MP had obtained Rs.1.2 million from him.

According to Amaratunge, a bank book had been taken to custody while more documents would be secured in the next few days.
