Excise officers seized 8,798 bottles of beer, worth Rs. 9 million and imported illegally from Belgium and other European countries.

The raid was carried out on information received that spectators at the recent Royal-Thomian big match had bought liquor here outside business hours.

This sports bar is run by one Roshan alias Rotiya.
