Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera signed the agreement with S. Jaishankar, India's Foreign Secretary to exempt official and diplomatic passport holders from visa requirements.
Minutes after the agreement was signed, visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Sri Lankans will be able to enjoy visa on arrival from the Sinhala and Tamil new year.
