It is said that the CSN is the highest bidder.
The CSN had obtained TV rights for the last three years after paying Rs. 123 million and the contract period is to end this month.
Earlier before that, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation had obtained the TV rights for a sum of Rs. 147 million.
SLRC and Sirasa TV are among this year’s bidders.
Sirasa TV applying for bidding despite a cabinet decision stating that TV rights on this regard will only be granted to a national TV channel, has raised eyebrows.
