The government has appointed a three member committee to probe the alleged irregularities that had taken place in the recent Treasury bond auction.

It was alleged that Mahendran’s son in-law, Arjun Aloysius has been unduly benefited in the bond issue.

Mahendran has left for Singapore amidst calls for him temporarily resign from the post of Central Bank Governor until the investigation is concluded.
