The probe initiated to ascertain how former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's second son Yoshitha Rajapaksa was recruited to the Navy had ended a few days back, Navy Media Spokesperson Commander Indika de Silva has said.

Speaking to ‘BBC Sandeshaya’,  the SLN spokesman said that the report was submitted to the Ministry of Defence.

Yesterday (06), it was announced that Yoshitha Rajapaksa was transferred to the Navy Headquarters with effective from March 09.

The transfer was based on service purposes, the SLN spokesman has added.

Yoshitha was recently granted the permission to join the security team of his father - former president Mahinda Rajapaksa by the Defence Ministry on Yoshitha Rajapaksa's request.

When ‘BBC Sandeshaya’ quizzed whether Yoshitha’s transfer announced yesterday was a decision based on the probe report, the SLN spokesmen had said that he was unable to comment on that.

He has further said that he was unable to reveal the outcome of the probe.
