CAA chief covers up irregularities

CAA chief covers up irregularities Featured

It has now come to light that incumbent director general and CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority H.M.C. Nimalsiri is the person who had covered up the matter of the Boeing 727 cargo airplane said to be owned by Aero Lanka.

Aero Lanka went bankrupt in 2008-09, but prior to that its employees had submitted several written complaints regarding the irreuglarities that had been taking place there.

However, Nimalsiri had done nothing to rectify the situation.

The workers had not been paid their salaries during the final period of the company, with some have sought court redress.

This airline is reportedly owned by Nathen, a resident of Miami, USA, whose real name is Sivarasa Sivanathan.

He had paid a visit to Sri Lanka in January, and had Nimalsiri not concealed details about him, much information could have come to light.

The officer in charge of operations at Aero Lanka was a woman named Komathi.

Nimalsiri is also keeping silent over several frauds that had taken place at Sky Line airline, as revealed by us.
