The dinner was organised to felicitate those who had supported at the recently concluded Presidential election.
Ban for SLFP MPs
Meanwhile, the SLFP has restricted its members from participating at events organized by other political parties or making statements at news conferences organized by other parties.
SLFP General Secretary Anura Pryadharshana Yapa told the media that the decision was taken in the best interest of the party.
The SLFP central committee had made this decision.
According to Yapa, SLFP members cannot attend meetings organised by other political parties without the consent of the SLFP leadership.
The SLFP General Secretary has added that the new decision was essential in order to ensure unity within the party.
