The local media has today reported that the diplomatic passport had been used by Shashi to travel overseas on six different occasions since September 2010.

Ms. Weerawansa, whose DPL passport D3642817 issued on September 13, 2010 under the name of Randunu Mudiyanselage Shehasha Udayanthi Ranasinghe, had reportedly made overseas trips to Malaysia, Mumbai, Singapore, two trips to Dubai and an undisclosed destination on a flight chartered by former President Rajapaksa.

Shashi is receiving medical treatment at a private hospital in Malabe under CID custody and has been remanded till the 25th of this month.
