The commission is to begin its hearings on February 28 at the Kuchchaweli and Trincomalee divisional secretariats, and will continue until March 03.
Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror' on this regard, activist Brito Fernando says that this commission, appointed by the previous government was rattled with several issues and families of disappeared persons had doubts whether the commission would ensure justice to them.
"We urge authorities to hold hearings, probe and produce suspects before courts. We urge to ensure justice to the families of those who had disappeared. We also request to deploy officials with fluent Tamil language skills for the task," he added.
