The party has also emphasised that the next General Elections should be held in accordance with the reforms.
Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said that without a consensus for the above, they cannot approve of a constitutional amendment taking place to pave way for hasty elections held on the whims of the UNP.
He also added that the SLFP will take up several matters including the constitutional amendment during a special workshop being held at a hotel in Katunayake today.
Noting that the main objective of this workshop was to look into the party's stance with regard to the draft constitutional amendment, Yapa said that the party will also finalise amendments proposed to the draft at the workshop.
