CBK says won't serve on a team with MR

Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge has left for the UK on Saturday in anger after hearing of her appointment to an advisory committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).

Kumaratunge is already a patron of the SLFP.

However, the former President has expressed her severe displeasure in being appointed to a committee that includes former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The advisory committee aimed re-organising the SLFP is led by President Maithripala Sirisena and includes two former Presidents Kumaratunge and Rajapaksa as well as two former Prime Ministers Ratnasiri Wickremenayake and D.M. Jayaratne.

Kumaratunge according to reports had been angry and declared she was not willing to serve on a team where there were “********”.

Afterwards, she had left for the UK.
