Sathosa had also run into a Rs.3 billion loss during the years 2013 and 2014.
It was reported by srilankamirror yesterday (February 10) that suppliers had stopped dealings with Sathosa over non-payment of dues.
Pensioners are said to have shown their displeasure towards employees of Sathosa when they visited the 300 or more outlets for provisions yesterday (February 10) which was the day on which pensions are drawn.
Sathosa employees said they were paying for the sins of former Trade Minister Johnston Fernando.
Sathosa had taken loans from state banks amounting to Rs.6.8 billion which it has yet to replay.
