Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera has said the Sri Lanka was ready to meet the challenge it would face at the United Nations Human Rights session in Geneva by pressing for a credible internal probe into war crimes.

Samaraweera made the remarks in an interview with the BBC's Sinhala service "Sandeshaya".

He said that Sri Lanka will leave no room for anyone in the island to be taken to the World court to answer for war crimes.

Samaraweera further added that Sri Lanka was in discussion with all countries which had called for an international war crimes probe to get their support for a credible internal probe.

He said that China will be accepted as a partner in the same way Sri Lanka treats India with regard to foreign relations.

Samaraweera also disclosed that President Maithripala Sirisena was scheduled to visit China in May this year.
