Police are expected to make the arrests of the named suspects over the course of the week.

Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Western Province Pujitha Jayasundera has been tasked to carry out further investigations into the dealings of Wele Suda and his cohorts.

Jayasundera at one time was the chief drug buster who served in the Police Narcotics Division and has been directed to complete the investigation within a seven-day period.

Police media spokesman Ajith Rohana confirmed that all suspects will be rounded up within the seven days and produced in court.

It has also been revealed that Wele Suda, his wife and a relation had amassed wealth totalling Rs.170 million.
