A group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) seniors have urged former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga to forgive the past spiteful misdeeds of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and to join bands in order to ensure a SLFP victory at the upcoming General election.
Ms. Bandaranaike has elaborated on the audacious conduct of Rajapaksa during the last 09 years, which was directed at the herself, the party and the country, but has agreed to discuss this matter further.
The group has also called to amend the SLFP constitution to enable Maithripala Sirisena remain party leader while Ms. Bandaranaike functions as the party chairperson.
