Mahinda says he won't form parties or alliances Featured

Defeated former President and current patron of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) - Mahinda Rajapaksa says he will not form other political parties or political alliances that would split up the SLFP regardless of the spite he has to face.
He made the remarks yesterday (January 25) while meeting senior stalwarts of the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) held at the Parliament Speaker's official residence in Colombo.

They have urged Rajapaksa to come forward as the Prime Ministerial candidate from a new political front at the upcoming General Election.

In response, Rajapaksa has said he would campaign islandwide to ensure a SLFP victory and that his son Namal will be contesting for a seat in Parliament under the UPFA ticket.
