Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today (23) restrained Avant Guard Maritime Service (Pvt) Ltd Chairman H. N. Yapa Senadipathi from leaving the country due to the ongoing investigations into the recently detained floating armoury at the Galle port.
Magistrate Pilapitiya issued the restraining order on Mr. Senadipathi on a request made by CID OIC Nishantha De Silva.
Earlier, Defense Secretary B.M.U.D. Basnayake had maintained that the detained floating armoury 'MV Mahanuwara' was handled in a legal manner.
The vessel was detained last Sunday.
