He is said to be unable to figure out his subject and the resources that would be at his disposal and is yet to receive an official vehicle and ministry building to carry out his functions.
Digambaram had earlier served in the Rajapaksa government as deputy minister of National Languages and Social Integration before crossing over to support Common Opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena who won the January 8 Presidential election.
He is currently the leader of the National Labour Party and represents the Nuwera Eliya district where he was able to accumulate 127, 266 more votes than what the Rajapaksa camp won at the Presidential election.
