A top Defence official has brought it to the notice of the government that the weapons could pose a threat to security and stability in the country.

The main stakeholder of Avant Garde is said to be a retired high ranking Army officer with close connections to another retired Army officer who served in the Defence Ministry.

The stores of one such company that was dealing in weapons and the previous Defence Ministry had been sealed by police.
