Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', a prominent former minister of the SLFP was commenting thus over Basil Rajapaksa fleeing to the US and later notifying his resignation from the post of SLFP national organiser.

A group of SLFPers have brought this up during a discusssion with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who has also said that there could be some truth to this.

Meanwhile, a wave of protest has arisen against re-appointing Dallas Alahapperuma as the SLFP treasurer at the party CC meeting which is to be held at the Foundation Institute in Colombo at 3.30pm today (16).

Matara district MP Hemal Gunesekara has also said that he would quit the party and crossover to the UNP if Dulles is re-appointed as SLFP treasurer.
