The BASL urges the government to reinstate Ms. Shirani Bandaranayake as Chief Justice.

Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo yesterday, BASL chairman Upul Jayasuriya says that the BASL executive committee fully backs the move.

'From the beginning, we were of the opinion that ousting Chief Justice 43 - Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake was completely illegal as well as null and void. Therefore, we have unanimously agreed that she should continue to hold the office of the Chief Justice.'
