The Bodhi Poojas are to be held after election campaigning is over and the first all-island ritual is scheduled to be held on January 6.

The artistes have been told to be present on the day at Temple Trees and one batch is to be dispatched to the Kataragama Shrine.

The rest of the groups are to be sent to Trincomalee and outside of Colombo.
Organisers have been told to provide food and drink free of charge to the participants.

It is said that the majority of artistes have shown no desire to attend the religious functions on behalf of the President and organisers have made a fervent appeal to them to take part.
