In a New Year message, 'the JVP emphasizes that masses that rally to liberate the country from the destruction Mahinda Rajapaksa regime has caused Sri Lanka should make 2015 a New Year that struggles unceasingly against the dictatorship of Rajapaksa family and the bankrupt capitalism it is protected by and make this a victorious year for Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, Burgher and Malay masses.'

Full text of the message:

New Year dawns today. The Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, Burgher and Malay masses in Sri Lanka, who have been suppressed by Mahinda Rajapaksa regime have rallied to win their rights and to breathe winds of freedom. It is an auspicious sign. The year 2015 could be made an Auspicious Year in such a decisive and advantageous political environment.

Rajapaksa despotic regime raised the cost of living to a level unbearable to the people in Sri Lanka. Instead of establishing an economic strategy that would give relief to the masses, the economy was vulgarized so that local and international racketeers could suck the essence of the country. Sri Lanka was turned into a center for drugs, gambling, prostitution, crime and an exchange point for black money.

As a result of stupid moves of a chaotic foreign policy carried out by Mahinda Rajapaksa regime that smashed unity and camaraderie among the peoples to establish a family dictatorship imperialists were given the opportunity to interfere in internal affairs of Sri Lanka.
