Announcement of this national front will be made once all parties that will be its members agree to the common programme which is presently under formulation.
Ex-minister Basil Rajapaksa is leading the effort, under which a key discussion took place yesterday (19).
Talks are to be held with trade unions and civil society organization too.
Enough is enough - Rajapaksa
Meanwhile, former president Mahinda Rajapaksa says a new party is being formed because the group including him cannot escape the attacks on them in any manner.
He told a recent religious function at Sithulpawwa that the only thing being done was that members of his group were accused of being thieves and taken to courts every day.
Rajapaksa said this exacting of revenge would never end.
An extensive anti-government national front to be led by the joint opposition will soon be formed, say political sources.
