The LoD has been sent by Welivita’s lawyer Nilantha Wijesinghe stating that the news item published in the newspaper on 11 August 2016 under the headline ‘Rs. 157.5 million belonging to CSN Channel confiscated’ was false.

The said news item had also stated that Rohan Welivita had said in his statement to the FCID that this money lying in his account was not his but Yoshitha Rajapaksa’s.

The CSN Channel or Rohan Welivita’s name is not mentioned anywhere in the B Report filed in the Kaduwela Magistrate’s court by the FCID on 10 August 2016.

The LoD has been sent to the Editor of the newspaper stating among other things that this news item has sullied the reputation built up by Welivita as a media personality and a businessman over the past 40 years.

Welivita’s lawyer has stated in the letter that if this money is not paid within two weeks, steps would be taken to file action in courts.
